New on the market these 3x2W LED bulbs are the only realistic replacment for your 50W Halogen spotlight. All 3x1W LED spotlight bulbs are only equivalent to a 30-35 Watt Halogen despite what sellers might say. While yes you could replace your 50W halogen spotlight with a 3x1w Led spotlight, you will however have lost a significant and noticable amount of light.
There is no 3x1W LED bulb out there that will replace a 50W Halogen and a 3x1W LED bulb can only output a maximum of 180-215 LM. Some manufacturers push these bulbs to 230LM which shortens their life span as they are just pushing greater current through the led chip.
These bulbs contain the most advanced Edison chip currently on the market and are OEM for Philips and OSRAM. When it comes to 3x2W LED Spotlights the advantage of the Edison chip is a more stable circuit design (better current regulation and less heat). As a result these bulbs will have significantly less color shift over their life span as the LED’s naturally degrade from use.
Please be aware that Cool/Daylight White LED bulbs are mainly used for commercial purposes (department store, display case, office) as the color is very clinical (Brilliant White with an almost Blue-ish Apperance) Their color is much different than a normal Halogen which is yellow-ish. For domestic use we recommend this Warm White bulb which as per customer feedback is very close in color to a normal Halogen and is even slightly brighter than the 50W halogen it’s replacing.
